Background

The Australian Memory of the World program welcomes the introduction of Commonwealth and State privacy principles, which strengthen our own existing ethical standards regarding the collection and use of personal information.

In the course of its functions the program may collect personal information.

This information is kept by the program in strict accordance with the appropriate legislation. Information collected will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected and all records and electronic data are protected from unauthorised use, or access. The disposal of information that is no longer required for such purposes will be carried out in accordance with legal and organisational requirements. This information will not be disclosed without consent unless required by law or a legal authority. Reasonable access to the information will be provided to individuals or their appointed representatives should they require details about personal information held.

The Australian Memory of the World program respects and acknowledges that your privacy is important and you have the right to control how your personal information is used. We do not collect any personal information on visitors to this website. However, in all things internet-related, logs are kept to record all manner of activity, and for all manner of reasons.

Operators of this website do not send unsolicited bulk e-mail. Any correspondence received is archived only to allow us to respond to your message, and is not compiled for any other purpose.
