8. Consultation with stakeholders

Consultation before submitting a nomination strengthens it, and avoids confusion or delay.

8.1 Owner

Prior consultation with the owner of the documentary heritage is normally required, unless there are particular reasons for not doing this.

8.2 Custodian

Prior consultation with the custodian of the documentary heritage is normally required, unless there are particular reasons for not doing this.

8.3 Australia Memory of the World Committee

Consultation with the Australia Memory of the World Assessment Sub-Committee is strongly recommended.

8.4 Independent experts

Consultation with independent experts strengthens it. Consultation may be about any of the criteria required to support a nomination to the Australian Register.
